All About Ms. Marsico
Hi! I am so excited to be your child's fifth grade math and science teacher at Macon-Hall Elementary. I am a Memphis native who attended Shelby County Schools, just like your child. I went to Southwind Elementary, Houston Middle and graduated from Houston High School in 2009. From there, I went on to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 2013. I moved back to Memphis and started my marketing career as a Marketing Specialist in the financial industry for three years. During that time, I realized I was missing out on what I truly was passionate about, and that was teaching young children! I have always been a babysitter during high school, and even still to this day, so I knew this was what I was called to do in life. I quit my job after my 25th birthday in 2016 and enrolled at The University of Memphis where I graduated in May with my Masters in Art and Teaching. During my time at The UofM, I had the opportunity to do my student teaching in a 4th grade math & science classroom at White Station Elementary. With the bonds and relationships I made at White Station, I was awarded Student Teacher of the Year from the University of Memphis while student teaching. Fast forward and here we are now--my first year teaching! To make things even better, I am team teaching with my best friend, Ms. Lake (almost Mrs. Hutchens), who I met during my masters program at The UofM. Ms. Lake will be teaching your child Literacy and Social Studies this school year. Here's her website!
